Arcade & games floor in BrightonTime plus credits.
Nobody hogs.

A wristband buys a window of time and a bank of credits. Tables are free, most games cost a credit, the big ones two, and nobody can camp on the racing sim all night. An hour with 30 credits is £12, or £9 added to any other Chillpit activity. Machines chosen for playing together, not alone.

Any age; under-12s with an adult. Weeknights Mon–Thu: the Pit Pass, £18 for the evening.

How credits work

So the racing sim isn't one person's for the night.

Time on its own lets one group camp on the best machine. Credits on their own make people ration every go. Both together means everyone gets a turn and nobody counts pennies.

MachinesCost per goFair play
Air hockey, table football, basketballFreeUnlimited within your time. 10-minute turns when someone's waiting.
Classic cabinets, four-player, fighting, shooters1 creditOne credit a go, continues included.
Racing sims, dance machine, pinball2 creditsThe popular ones. 15-minute turns when someone's waiting.
Console stations2 credits per 15 minOr reserve a station for an hour for £15, no credits needed.

Credits are on your wristband, tapped at the machine. Run out? Top up 15 for £5 at the desk. Turn limits only kick in when someone's waiting; on a quiet afternoon, play as long as you like.

What's on the floor

Built for groups. Not forty Pac-Mans.

Someone playing alone for an hour isn't the point. Four friends racing each other is. Every machine here is two-player or more, or has a crowd behind it.

Air hockey

Two tables. The loudest thing in the building that isn't the axe lanes.

Racing sims

Two linked seats. Race each other, not the clock.

Light-gun shooters

Two-player cabinets, zombie-flavoured. Stand up, lean in.

Basketball

Timed hoops, side by side. The scoreboard remembers.

Dance & rhythm

One machine, spectators guaranteed.

Pinball

A proper table with a high-score board.

Four-player cabinets

The classics, four sticks, one screen. Plus fighting games.

Console stations

Four big screens: football, fighting, racing, party games. Two credits per 15 minutes, or reserve a station.

Table football

Because every room needs one.

Who it's for

The bit between everything else.

Before and after your session

Four of you arrive early for the axe lane. Thirty minutes on the games floor beats thirty minutes in reception.

Weeknights

Students after lectures, teenagers after school, couples, gaming groups. Eighteen quid, the whole evening, walk-up pool included.

Families

The one activity with no age rule. Under-12s with an adult; parents play too.

Birthdays on a budget

Two hours, 50 credits each, a reserved console station and the snack bar. Top up if the party's going well.

Weeknights

The Pit Pass. Monday to Thursday. £18.

From 6pm until we close, one wristband gets you the whole evening, 60 credits, walk-up pool whenever a table's free and the tournament on Thursdays. Students, NHS and forces pay £16.20 with ID. Bring the group chat.

Thursday tournament

A different game each week, a bracket on the big screen, a prize for the winner and a photo on the wall.

Reserve a console

£15 holds a station for an hour so your five-a-side team gets the football.

Pool between games

Walk-up pool is included in the pass when a table's free. Tuesday is league night.

Snack bar

Soft drinks, hot drinks and snacks in the lounge. No alcohol anywhere in the building.

FAQ

Games questions.

Why time and credits, not one or the other?

Time on its own lets one group camp on the racing sim all night. Credits on their own make people ration every go. Together, you know what it costs before you walk in, you get plenty of goes, and the best machines keep rotating. Tables are free, most games are a credit, the popular ones two.

What if I run out of credits?

Top up 15 for £5 at the desk, as many times as you like within your time. Unused credits end with your session; they don't roll over.

What stops someone hogging a machine?

When someone's waiting, turns are 15 minutes on the racing sims, dance machine and consoles and 10 minutes on the tables, and the credit cost means a go has to end. On a quiet afternoon with nobody waiting, play as long as you like.

What machines are there?

Ones built for playing together: air hockey, basketball, two racing simulators, light-gun shooters, a dance machine, table football, pinball, four-player cabinets with the classics, fighting games, and four console stations on big screens. Not forty identical cabinets.

Can we just do the games?

Yes, any day we're open. It's also the natural thing to do while you wait for an axe lane or after one, which is why adding an hour and 25 credits to any other activity is only £9.

How old do you need to be?

Any age. Under-12s need an adult in the building with them. The axe lanes have their own age rule; the games floor doesn't.

What's the Pit Pass?

Monday to Thursday from 6pm until we close, one wristband, £18, 60 credits and walk-up pool when a table's free. Tournament night most Thursdays with a prize. Students, NHS and forces pay £16.20 with ID.

Can I reserve a console?

Yes, a station for an hour is £15 on top of your wristband, so your group has a guaranteed screen for the football or the fighting game.
